New BS Criminology Course Attracts Students
Bachelor of Science in Criminology, TCMC s latest academic offering for school year 2010-2011, has attracted eighty-six of students from East Rizal towns. Dr. Erdulfo Grimares, Dean of Criminology, expressed optimism about the future of the program, which aims to contribute to the country s manpower requirements in the field of law enforcement and peace and order. Implementation of the said 4-year degree-program is in consonance with the ongoing institutional academic development of the college. Besides BS Criminology, TCMC also offers other programs outside of the traditional education, commerce, and liberal arts degrees, such as Computer Science, BS Nursing, BS Hotel and Restaurant Management, and new TESDA accredited short-courses on helathcare, Electronics, and Information Technology that are responsive to global manpower needs. Said institutional are aligned with the vision/mission of the College related to the pursuit of academic excellence, social responsibility, and national development.
Other significant developments in the campus include— 1.) the completion of the Center for Hotel and Restaurant Management (CHARM) building, the latest structure to house classroom and laboratory facilities for the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management program, which is now on its fourth year and shall produce the first batch of graduates in March 2011; and 2.) the ongoing Accreditation of the business administration program, which was recently awarded the certificate for Candidate Status; equivalent to Level I in previous classification by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).
